Terms of Service
By using Van Hay ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Responsible Pet Ownership
- You represent that you are the legal owner of, or have authority to represent, the pet(s) listed in your profile.
- You must provide accurate information about your pet, including health status, vaccination records, and temperament.
- Van Hay does not verify ownership claims. Misrepresenting your pet's details may result in account suspension.
3. Adoption Responsibility
- If you list a pet for adoption, you are responsible for ensuring the pet goes to a safe, suitable home. Van Hay facilitates connections but does not act as an animal shelter or rescue organization.
- Charging excessive or unreasonable fees for adoption that constitute animal trafficking is strictly prohibited and may be reported to authorities.
- Both parties in an adoption match are encouraged to meet in a safe public place before completing the adoption.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post false, misleading, or deceptive content.
- Harass, bully, or threaten other users.
- Send spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional content via messages.
- Use the App to buy or sell animals in a manner that violates local animal welfare laws.
- Impersonate another person or pet owner.
- Attempt to access or interfere with other users' accounts or data.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to interact with the App.
5. Report and Block Rules
Van Hay provides reporting and blocking tools to maintain a safe community:
- You may report any user, pet listing, or message that you believe violates these Terms. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
- Blocking a user prevents them from appearing in your Discover feed, sending you messages, or viewing your profile.
- Submitting false or malicious reports may result in action against your own account.
6. User Content
You retain ownership of the content (photos, text, messages) you post to Van Hay. By posting content, you grant Van Hay a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content to other users within the App for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Van Hay is not liable for any user-generated content.
7. Intellectual Property
All non-user content in Van Hay, including the app design, logo, and software, is the property of Van Hay. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time from Settings within the app.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Van Hay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Van Hay is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including any outcomes of pet adoptions or meetups arranged through the platform.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
